SfBN central register of competent persons
The Skills for Business Network (SfBN) has created a UK-wide central register of all:
- trainers who have completed the 'Train the Trainers' programme, including achievement of the Energy Efficiency Certificate.
- installers and specifiers who have completed the Energy Efficiency Certificate and are deemed a competent person under the requirements of the Building Regulations (and, as appropriate, equivalent regulations in other nations of the UK when introduced).
When a candidate registers at a training centre they will complete a declaration form so that their details can be entered on the Skills for Business Network register. This is used by the four Sector Skills Councils that form the Skills for Business Network and competent person registration organisations such as CORGI, OFTEC, trade associations and professional bodies.

On receipt of their certificate, candidates should notify the competent person registration organisation that they are registered with Skills for Business as a competent person.
