Pre-course study guide
The study guide download forms part of the 16 hours of pre-course learning that you need to undertake before attending the training centre. You should read through the study guide and complete all sections with the answers required.
Your training day at the centre starts with a review of your study guide work, to help your trainer assess if you are ready for the day's training and assessment.

Sample question paper
The sample question paper gives an indication of the style of the questions that may be set.
The reference number you will see underneath each question indicates the reference document you may use during the assessment to answer that question. This is why it's essential to carry out the 16 hours of pre-course learning with the designated documents to ensure you're familiar with these during the training and assessment.
Re-taking the assessment paper
Candidates who do not pass the assessment will have to re-sit.
City & Guilds approved centres will be charged for a candidate re-assessment
GOLA re-assessment: £14
Paper-based re-assessment: £45
